About Handled

Hey, I'm Zach. Handled is my new passion project. I'm probably not so different than you. I'm a Los Angeles, California native who once moved to New York City.

 

I've lived in CDMX since May 2022 after fist visiting in the Summer of 2021.

My "gringo" friends down here in Mexico City are all international travelers - Americans, Canadians, Europeans. Some of us have a lot of travel experience.

 

We all agree that right now, Mexico City is having a real cultural moment. We maintain a healthy social scene with lots of local Mexicanos in the mix. My friends and enjoy art shows, bars, restaurants, museums, local getaways, the music scene, and whatever other trouble we can find our way into.

 

Learning Spanish is a plus in Mexico, but not fully necessary. This is an absurdly welcoming country. I started Handled because I wanted to share the amazing experiencing of relocating to a super cool city.

 

The challenges I faced coming down here were real -- if you pay for an AIRBNB for more than a few days, you're a sucker. If you can't speak good Spanish, signing up for internet service, water service, natural gas will likely frustrate you. And finding an apartment? Ha. Good luck.

 

With a little guidance, none of these things are impossible, but thanks to my group, I've been grateful to have plenty of support and direction. And now, I'm here to share it all with you.
